Information Technology Act, 2000 & Intermediary Guidelines (IT Rules 2021)

• RYYT operates as an intermediary under Section 79 of the IT Act.
• We follow due diligence requirements, remove unlawful content when notified, and maintain a grievance process.
• Complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days as mandated by Rule 3(2) of the IT Rules 2021.

Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act), 2023

• We collect and process personal data only with explicit consent.
• Users may access, correct, delete, or withdraw consent anytime.
• All data is secured through encryption, controlled retention, and breach-reporting compliance.

Other Applicable Laws

• Indian Penal Code §§ 499–505 – Defamation, hate speech, impersonation.
• Copyright Act 1957 – Ownership and protection of digital content.
• Parental Consent (under DPDP) – Required for users under 18.
• Cross-border data transfers – Handled in accordance with DPDP restrictions.

Allowed: Genuine opinions, analysis, and constructive debate.


Prohibited:
1. Harassment, threats, or abuse
2. Hate speech or discrimination
3. Misinformation or false financial claims
4. Spam or irrelevant self-promotion
5. Explicit or obscene content
6. Impersonation or fake identities
7. Disclosure of private or sensitive data
8. Scams, fraud, or illegal activity

• Tap “Report” → select one of the eight standard reasons.
• Tap “Block” → stop all interactions from that user.

When reported:
• Content is soft-deleted (hidden) for moderation.
• Confirmed violations → warning, suspension, or permanent removal.
• Repeat or severe breaches → permanent ban.

• Reported or deleted content is flagged and stored (not erased) for audit, appeal, or regulatory review.
• Data is purged only after the legal retention period ends, as per the IT Rules 2021.
